People wanting to join in should already know:
- How to hold the drum upright properly
- How to play basic strokes well (Dum, Tak, Kah, Pah)
- Play simple traditional rhythms (Maqsoum, malfuf, fox, waltz) and their simple variations.
- Be familiar with subdivisions and ghost notes.
- For Darbuka people should know how to do simple left had finger rolls (Arabic style) and Mahbus
The course is for up to 8 people and no less than 4 people.

Francesco Corallini and Elizabeth Nott.
An opportunity to witness the making of music from silence and the heart beat as point of departure...An improvisational journey in which you can take part by adding your own voice, body percussion and movement as it feels in the moment.
The journey continues and finishes with a Sound Bath guided by sound healer 'Chai' Francesco.
Cost: £7/5 cons.
Where and when: I'klectik, Old Paradise Yard, 20 Carslie Lane, London SE1 7LG, UK

Bring your own mat or cloth if possible.

Liz Chi Yen Liew and guests celebrating the Chine New Year @ KARAMEL,Wood Green, 5th February at 8pm. Liz is a British Chinese musician/composer who plays the violin and piano and whose music is a blend of Chinese and western music as in her album "Monkey King-A Modern Beijin Opera", which includes electronica and traditional acoustic instruments.
